Since our start in 11/21 we have provided
- Over 150 classroom visits
- To over 50 classroom teachers
- And have interacted with over 2,500 SL students during these visits
- We have used 6 dogs (Cisco, Legend, Freedom, Honeybear, Koala, & Sparkie)
Our Mission
Pawsitive to the Core addresses the behavioral health needs of the Silver Lake community by providing emotional support through the use of therapy dogs!
Academic Advantages:
- Memory and problem solving skills
- Executive functioning skills
- Children take more risks in learning and for the dog
- Refocus on task and settles upset students
Mental / Physical Advantages:
- Relieves stress and anxiety
